Earlier this week I mentioned how LeapFrog's was working to encourage parents to read to their children as part of National Reading Month.LeapFrog is hosting a Tag Reading Challenge in celebration of National Reading Month. Their goal is to stress the value of reading to your child and to get parents to pledge to read to their children daily. They hope to accumulate enough pledges to total 1 million hours of reading time during the month of March.
As a "thank you" for signing up for the challenge you get to download some great goodies, including a Reading Reward and savings that can be used at Toys R Us or online at LeapFrog on the Tag System. The coupons are for $10 off the Tag Reading System and $4 off a Tag Reading System book. This makes the Tag Reading system only $39.99... which is a great price!!!!
Soo... as though it wasn't enough that LeapFrog was doing something awesome for kids and helping you save some money on the Tag..... drum roll.....drum roll....
We are giving away a Tag Reading System here on Penny Pinching Parent!!!
Oh yea, you read that right, you can enter to win one! But wait, that's not all- I have only just begun...
You can enter to win a Tag Reader System Prize Package, which includes 5 Tag Reading System Books PLUS... the winner will receive an expanded memory version of the Tag Reading System and 10 Tag Reading System Books to donate to their local library!!!!
The retail value on the system the winner gets is about $120 and the one for the library is about $190.... so, you can see why I am so excited, this is a HUGE, HUGE giveaway!!!
I am so excited that a Penny Pinching Parent reader will get to win a Tag Reading system, literally I have been dancing around the house and could not wait to get this up, but how great is it that you and your child can take one to your library?!?
I know our local library just underwent some huge budget cuts and in an effort to avoid layoffs has cut back on hours...and I know this has been a trend across the country, so I am sure the winning library would be tickled to receive such a generous gift.
Here's how you can enter to win... each step you complete will give you additional entries. entry. You can earn a total of 13 entries...who said 13 is an unlucky number! (this was revised on 3.14.09 to allow participants to earn extra entries by taking the reading hours pledge)
Special Note: You must leave a separate comment (other than the entry form) for each item that you have completed in order to receive the multiple entries.
1. Complete the form below to be entered to win... this is so people who don't have blogging profiles or Open Id's can enter too! - (1) entry
2. Go visit the LeapFrog site and take the reading pledge. Come back here and let me know how much time you pledged (total time). (10) entries
3. Tweet about this giveaway... if you are on Twitter (you know I am a huge fan) let your followers know, help LeapFrog reach their 1 Million Reading Hours Pledge Goal. (1) entry
An example tweet could be...
"Check out @pennypinchingp's LeapFrog Tag giveaway. Enter to win one for you & your library & help LeapFrog reach 1 Million Reading Hours!"
4. Blog about it! Help spread the word on your site and you'll get another entry. (1) entry
This giveaway will run all month long, it ends at 12 PM EST on 3/31/09. Entries are limited to 4 per person, based on helping to spread the word and must be able to be verified. Winner will be selected via a random drawing via Random.org. Giveaway open to US residents only. Winner will be notified via e-mail and Tag Reading System will be sent directly from LeapFrog.
A big, big thank you to LeapFrog for your efforts in helping parents realize the importance of reading to their children, for providing us parents with great tools to make reading fun and for hosting this awesome give way.

I pledge 40 min per day - 30 min for my 2 year old and 10 for my 8 month old. My 2 year old considers it a treat to get books - he loves them so much and has so many for that reason. We have been reading to him since he came home from the hospital.
