Penny Pinching Parent: Toys R Us & Babies R Us Now Offering eGift Cards

I just wanted to pass along this new to those of you who want to send a gift to someone this holiday season. Toys R Us & Babies R Us (along with eToys & FAO Schwarz) are now offering eGift cards.

You can select a holiday-themed versions from each the sites and e-mail them instantaneously to a gift recipient. They even have birthday and general interest eGift cards is also available.

eGift cards are sent directly to one’s inbox for guaranteed delivery and can be purchased in any denomination. The great thing is that they are not only redeemable online, but also in store. To redeem their gift, recipients must simply print out their eGift card and provide to the cashier at checkout. All eGift cards are protected with individual PIN numbers, ensuring security on redemption.

I think is is wonderful for several reasons... one being you can send an electronic gift card to someone & they don't have to just use it online and secondly because I don't like sending real gift cards through the mail because to me it's pretty much the same as sending cash... anyone could steal it.
